I don’t have alot to say this week….but what I will say is proufound……..LOL!
The BEST motivation in the world for continuing to work at my weight loss is:
Trying to fit into last year’s bathing suit so we could go out on the lake this past weekend.
OH.MY.GAWD. It took me at least 10 minutes to get the damn thing on.
Do I weigh more than last year – nope – I actually weigh 5 lbs less than I did last August (slow but steady wins the race..).
Apparently, the weight has shifted itself around. It was heinous I tell you. It’s one of those suits that “shrinks” you anyway, so once I got it over my butt it was all sorts of twisted and rolled up. It took another 7-8 minutes of pulling and tugging and unrolling to get it up to my boobs, so that the straps could be untwisted to go over my shoulders.
On another note – my friend Mel and I did another 1.7 mile walk this morning. We’ve gotten into a nice routine with the kids (my 2 little ones). She pushes the jogging stroller with J, and I push my other stroller with N. Her neighborhood has sidewalks, so we tend to walk behind the other until we get to the side street were it’s safer to walk in the street. We talk and walk, and sometimes we just walk and admire the flowers and gardens in the neighborhood – mainly because we are too out of breath to talk! I found out today that she has a goal too of weight to lose before her birthday. We’ll keep walking 3 days a week together until the end of the school year, and then we’ll start back up in August again when the kids start back to school. I will be walking in the summer in the evenings with my kids or in the mornings when we are visiting family.
Love & Hugs – my Mamavation sistas are awesome!

Bathing suits are a great motivation! I hope to go but me one this weekend but no intentions of wearing it until I look good in it!
Keep up your hard work girl!
Bathing suits are scary. For the love of I don't know what I am fitting better into my bottoms now than I did last summer but I did buy a new top this weekend in anticipation of what kind of saggy mess my torso will be after I have the baby. Look at a better suit that is not so constricting if you have toned better this year.
Great job keeping up the exercise program you have started with your friend. You really are an influencer.
Oh bathing suits… Ugh. Well all I can say is just keep walking! Keep at it, and yes slow and steady wins the race, even my doctor says so. However agonizingly slow at least you are going in the right direction and that is definitely something to be proud of.
Great job on the exercise! And yes,.I know the horrors of trying to get into one of those "suits that make you look 10 pounds skinnier". They're like a tube you need to squeeze into! =) Have a great week!!
Swimsuits are definitely a big motivation. Good luck with your walking. Have a great week
Ugh, this is why I HATE swimsuit season! Sounds like you are doing great with exercising. How nice to have a friend to walk with!
Have a great week!
Ugh, I so not look forward to swimsuit season. Good for you for tackling the motivation though. Keep up the walking
I LOVE how you are walking with a girlfriend. That is so awesome…and the fact that you can't talk cause you are breathing so hard…that is PERFECT! Way to go!
Oh, I can so related to the swimsuit saga. I have yet to put my suit on this year even though the pool is open. That's great that you have someone to walk with. It makes walking much easier.
Bathing suits are evil.
Thanks for stopping by my SITS day. It's amazing what a small world it is!
Thank you for stopping by and making my SITS day so awesome!
It's great that you have someone to walk with – you can combine socialising with exercising
