How do you tweet? Meaning, do you tweet from your phone, the twitter website, or a twitter application?
I have 2 computers (laptop & desktop) – and on my desktop I have TweetDeck and I really like it. Like any computer application, it has it’s moments where it goes down and there is a problem – but that is becoming more rare than it was last year. You can integrate facebook status updated into your “columns”.
On my laptop I just use the Twitter website, but have looked into adding TweetDeck or another application. Someone recently told me about HootSuite, and I see some of the folks I follow using it. I personally don’t know anything about it – other than it looks complicated! However, I do love some of the features that HootSuite offers – like scheduled tweets – perfect for promoting blog posts that are also scheduled to post. This would be uber-helpful while I am at my in-laws this summer with no internet.
I did some research and found several articles, one being a great article by DragonBlogger who details the “pros and cons” of each one. After reading the article, I think I will stick to TweetDeck, as the “cons” about HootSuite (things it’s missing) are things I use the most on TweetDeck! Here is the link to the post detailing both: Comparing Hootsuite to Tweetdeck
What are your thoughts? Which platform do you use, or prefer and why?
It is a toss up. I like HootSuite simply for the scheduled tweets. I do most of my online time either really early in the morning or late at night. I find if I tweet everything all at once that I am bombarding my followers.
Thanks for mentioning my article and taking my Spark Opp, you never contact me and I just noticed. I liked back to your article from my post now.
